When my mother-in-law went to the doctor’s office a while back, I remember her telling me her doctor asked her if she’s a toast and tea type of person. A toast and tea person? She asked. Yeah, you know, like you wake up and make yourself some toast and tea and that’s your meal for the day? She laughed. No way. I make myself full well rounded meals, 3 times a day, everyday.
And she does. Hence, why she’s so healthy.
My mother-in-law is also kind of an anomaly. Because I feel like we all can get lazy at times. There have been so many moments where all I had the energy to do, was make myself some toast and tea. And later eat something pre-packaged, easy and ‘handful-grab-able.’ But these amazing snack preps I made, solve everything! No more excuses. Great for me, to snack healthily throughout the day, and great for my daughter when she is super hungry after school.

These mini containers are perfect for snack prepping. They’re also BPA free, reusable and dishwasher safe. The first prep batch, I used carrots, celery, hummus and berries. (I try to buy everything local and organic). You can get the tiny containers I used for the hummus, here.
For this one, organic wheat thin crackers, string cheese, and all natural peanut butter and raspberry jam.
Here I cut up some bell pepper, with more hummus, apple slices and a tiny handful of peanuts. Trail mix would be good too, I just didn’t have any! (Squeeze some lemon on the apples so they don’t brown).
The containers come in a pack of ten. You can get creative and spend a little part of your day chopping, washing and preparing to last you and your family through the whole week! Honestly, these prep packs were so fun to make. The whole family got involved. And the best part? I didn’t just make myself some toast and tea and my daughter didn’t complain about being hungry after school, she opened up the fridge and pulled one of these babies out and started munching away.
