Like probably every 6 year old out there, my daughter is obsessed with Unicorns. She uses up all her eyelash, birthday, penny-in-fountain and tooth fairy wishes for a real live unicorn, every single time. Seems like the rest of the world is just as obsessed. Here in LA, there is unicorn food, everywhere.
I’m totally all about it. I love color. But not so much all that food coloring. So I thought I’d jazz up an afternoon unicorn snack of my own, and whip up some colorful cream cheese to go with toast and crackers using real fruit.
It’s actually really simple.
Buy some freeze dried fruit from the grocery store. (I used Organic Strawberry, blueberry and mango.) And grind it up in a food processor.
Sprinkle it on some whipped cream cheese, like so. And just stir it all up.
The colors came out really pretty.
And tasted delicious! The difference of taste was very subtle, actually. We added some fruit on top too, which made it extra yummy.
We also saved some cream cheese for toast in the morning.
Dye-free and no added sugar. Perfect little breakfast for my 6 year old.
Enjoy!
