So part two of my pom pom madness!
Pom pom, feather necklaces on a silver leather cording. I love these so much.
These were just as simple to make as the pom pom necklace in my previous post. It just required a little more material and a little more work.
(For your convenience, affiliate link.)
First I needed to make more pom poms. To find out how I did it, click here. I used Lionbrand yarn in Party. I then bought some feathers, some end crimps, silver leather cording, and tiny 9mm key rings.
To attach the ring to the pom pom, I threaded a piece of yarn through the pom pom, slid the ring on one end and tied a tight knot.
For the feathers, I had to attach an end crimp on the end of the feather. I used regular pliers I found in my husband’s tool box to secure tightly.
I then had to slide the end of the crimp through the tiny key ring. (Exactly like sliding a key through a ring.) This was the most challenging part, but still easy enough. Once done, I put the leather cord through the rings like so:
I love the different color combinations.
To fasten the ends together, I bought a tiny pack of assorted closures. I then put crimps on each end of the cord. Next I put a tiny ring through the crimp on both sides, and then finally a closure on the one ring.
Those little rings just open and close by twisting it open carefully, and closing back together.
The finished product:
And Els …
Wearing handmade mittens by grandma, and a handmade necklace by mom.
And can’t forget, more handmade Christmas presents for Els’ friends.
