I love Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day and Fourth of July are right up there next to Christmas for my favorite holidays to celebrate. So naturally, I went all out and decked the place up with a ‘whole lot of red, white and blue!’ Cutlery, plates and all. In hindsight, it’s actually kind of funny. Considering we were all a bunch of Canadians.
Nevertheless!

Look at these festive tri-color beauties. Martha Stewart’s Red White and Blueberry Trifle. Click for recipe. But instead of making it into one big trifle, I decided to make individual servings in disposable clear cups. I was able to make 8 of them.
These were actually a cinch to make. And the individual cups worked out perfectly. Everyone was able to enjoy one to themselves and it made for easy distributing and less dishes. LESS DISHES.
We may (or may not) have whipped the cream part a tad too long. But it still tasted wonderful. Wonderfully delicious. And we were wonderfully full, I may add.
A perfect end to a great day, with great friends, toasting to the beginning of summer, wishing for nothing more than this.
