When I lived in Toronto, I never fully appreciated the city. We had a love/hate kind of relationship. It loved me. I hated it. Or so it seemed.
But this conflicting or rather confining relationship is what initially began to fuel my dreams. I dreamt big. I dreamt of New York City. Paris. Italy. Outside all the conventions. I was destined (or so I thought) to be a nomad.
Eventually, Toronto did let me go. I guess it didn’t love me as much as I thought it did. And the other way around. My once certain feelings for the city were completely false. For each time I went back and visited, I could feel deep in my gut, a sense of home. And with it, love.
Which is why I don’t take advantage of my space anymore. My new home. The place I call home with a family of my own. We call that Los Angeles.
And the list is long of why we love this city so much. But here is one example. Els’ favorite place in the whole wide world. Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena.
And why wouldn’t it be!
It’s scientific. And fun. And musical. All in one.
It’s serene. For a minute.
There’s water. LOTS of water.
And it’s quality.
You can easily spend an entire day here. There is so much to do and see. And their whole motto is involvement while learning. It’s also a good balance between indoor and outdoor space. There’s tons of water play for the summer. And on specific dates in the winter they provide real snow for the kids to play in. Amazing.
Definitely going on my top ten list of great places to go in LA with my tiny tot!
